In viticulture literature, viticulture is an important agricultural activity in the geography of Turkey, which is the homeland of the vine. This importance; is not sufficient to explain the area and production quantities, trade, etc. with numerical indicators. With its 6000-year history, it has become an indispensable occupation of civilizations in these lands, a religious, cultural, and mythological object. In addition to its suitability for grape cultivation, viniculture is important and valuable for Turkiye with its geographical differences, enriching ecology, and its 1459 genotypes. In this study, which was carried out as a compilation, Turkish viticulture was discussed with its historical, sociological, ecological, and economic aspects. In addition, the current situation of viticulture in Turkiye in terms of organizational structure and relevant legislation has been tried to be examined.
